Abstract

1398141 Rotary tool heads TRAUB GmbH 27 June 1972 [12 Aug 1971] 29929/72 Heading B3T A rotary tool head for a machine tool comprises a housing 1 in which is located a rotatable tool-carrying member 11 forming part of a hollow spindle assembly 4 and in which is coaxially supported a workpiece guide tube 15, two cutting tool units 33-37 secured to radially slidable carriers 30 mounted in the member 11, the carriers being actuated by cranked levers 29 to simultaneously feed the cutting tools 35, 35a radially towards and away from the axis of rotation of the head along which the workpiece is fed through the guide tube 15. The cranked levers 29, 29a are actuated by push rods 26, 26a respectively, located parallel to the axis of rotation of the head, and which are operated by way of a slidable bush 18 and casing 20 coaxially mounted on the spindle assembly 4 from an operating lever 24 outside the housing 1. The operating rods 26 are biased by springs 28, 28a and the carriers by springs 32.
