Abstract

1395574 Gate hinge USS ENGS & CONSULTANTS INC 3 May 1972 [13 May 1971] 20673/72 Heading E2F A gate hinge assembly for attachment of a gate 36 to a post 44 includes hinge members 2, 2T each having an L-shaped post-mounting bracket 4, each leg 6, 8 of which is provided with at least one outwardly extending boss 12, 20; 10, 18 each with a hole therethrough 16, 24; 14, 22 respectively arranged at an angle to its associated leg and a hinge-plate 26 attached to and extending at right-angles outwardly from one of the legs (8). The hinge plate is provided with at least one hole 30 or 28 therethrough to accommodate a cylindrical projection of the frame 38 of the gate. The hinge members are held in place by a bolt 46 and retaining nuts 48 having a break off portion connected to a frusto-conical portion of the nut such that the bolt can only be removed by using a cutting tool.
