Abstract

1394898 Traverse mechanism SCHWIETER ENG WORKS LTD (MASCHINENFABRIK SCHWEITER AG) 5 July 1972 [7 July 1971] 31532/72 Heading D1J [Also in Division F2] The opposed walls of a double grooved yarn traversing roll are each concave at the traverse ends, as at 14, so that an elongate follower 5 that is pivotally mounted midway between its ends can, on reaching the end of groove 6, swing about its leading end and then proceed stern first along groove 7. To damp impact shock one of the two concave surfaces may be a replaceable insert 11 seated against a spring mounting 15. The follower 5, Fig 4 (not shown) may comprise a pin (17) resiliently extending from both ends of a carrier (16), the pin (17) having heads (18, 19) that correspond to the curvature of the concave surfaces.
