Abstract

1394863 Compasses OSMUND FABRIKS AB 25 May 1973 [30 May 1972] 25332/72 Heading B6P Compasses having two legs 1, 2 of U-formed section and nested about the pivot pin 5 are characterized by the leg length, being between six and fifteen times the leg width at the pivot pin 5. Each leg is fitted with a chuck device 10, 11 to hold a drawing tip or needle. The pin 5 may be a bolt carrying a wing nut and distance sleeves 3, 4, 6. A loop 9 attached to each leg passes around a pin 8 mounted on sleeve 6, so ensuring that the pin 8 bisects the angle enclosed by legs 1, 2 at the pin 5. A gripping head (7), Fig. 1 (not shown) extends from sleeve 6 diametrically opposite to pin 8. A gauge (16), Fig. 3 (not shown), may be fitted to the compasses for measuring the distance between the tips of the legs 1, 2.
