Abstract

1394640 Overhead endless conveyers STEWART GILL & CO Ltd and D A BANTIN Ltd 24 Oct 1973 49610/73 Addition to 1201524 Heading B8A [Also in Division B7] The wheel or roller for conveyers described in Specification 1,201,524 is modified in that the shaft and bush carrying the annular tread member 11 are replaced by a screw-threaded bolt member 14 having a sleeve 16 mounted thereon carrying a member with two parts 17a, 17b each formed with a ball track of quartercircular cross-section receiving balls 19 which also engage the opposed one of the ball tracks 13a, 13b on the tread member 11. In use, the bolt member 14 is passed through an aperture 24 in a limb, e.g. 15a, of a trolley of the form described in Specification 1,201,524 and a nut 14a is screwed on to the bolt to secure the wheel or roller to the trolley. The bolt member 14 may have a frusto-conical head 14b received in a correspondingly shaped seat 16a in the sleeve 16, the sleeve portion provided with the seat 16a in turn fitting in to a frusto-conical seat 17a 1 on the part 17a. The wheel or roller may be further modified by the provision of an annular groove 10a in the tread member 11 to facilitate drainage of liquid when the conveyer is washed in use.
