1394414 Windscreen wipers SWFSPEZIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU GmbH 24 May 1973 [25 May 1972] 24889/73 Heading A4F A windscreen wiper assembly, having mechanism for so driving a wiper blade that it sweeps a substantially rectangular area, comprises driving means, e.g. a cable 22 and pulley 21 for moving a bearing 23 arcuately about a fixed pivot 20, a solid shaft 25 mounted within a hollow shaft 24 supported in the bearing 23, the shafts 24, 25 carrying gear wheels 26, 27 engaging fixed gears 13, 15 in such manner that the shafts 24, 25 rotate in opposite directions during arcuate movement of the beating 23, and the hollow shaft 24 carrying a rocker arm 28 having at its free end a rotary spindle 36 carrying a wiper (not shown) and coupled, as by toothed belt and gearing 41, 31, 40, to the shaft 25 to rotate in the same direction thereas. The gears 13, 15 comprise sector plates respectively internally and externally toothed.
