Abstract

1393911 Igniter compositions UNITED AIRCRAFT CORP 26 July 1972 [17 Sept 1971] 35017/72 Heading C1D An igniter composition for a gas generator comprises a mixture of iron and a chlorate, e.g. sodium chlorate, together with borax as a burning rate retarder. Other ingredients referred to are dextrin, aluminium oxide, asbestos, and chopped glass fibres. In comparative compositions, the borax is replaced by boric acid, sodium phosphate, calcium chloride, and magnesium sulphate. The gas generator may be the source of oxygen in a portable cutting torch as described in Specification 1,393,912.
