Abstract

1393134 Expanding wheel gear SIEMENS AG 5 June 1972 [11 June 1971] 26197/72 Heading F2D A centrifugal device for producing axial separation of rotary members, such as an axially fixed member 1 and an axially movable flange 2 of a V-belt pulley in a wash-machine, in opposition to a restoring force, such as the tension of the belt 8 between the flange 2 and an axially fixed flange 6, comprises centrifugal masses such as balls 10 in recesses 12, 13 in the members 1,2, the recess in at least one of the members having an inner inclination which increases towards the other member in the radially outward direction, whilst in the circumferential direction (Fig. 3, not shown), the recesses are ellipsoidal. In Fig. 2, not shown, the recesses are divided into three radial steps. The member 1 is held axially against a stop 11 on a drive sleeve 3 by the centrifugal force of the balls 10.
