Abstract

1392808 Load handling pallets PROCTER & GAMBLE Ltd 29 June 1972 [30 June 1971] 30631/71 Headings B8H and B8P A demountable box pallet comprises four side walls 2, 3, 4 each with a peripheral metal frame 10, 20 and locating pins 17, 18 mounted on the bottom edge to engage in sockets 8, 9 in the deck 5 of the pallet. An opposed pair of side walls 2, 4 have male interengagement pins 15 mounted adjacent the top of the sides thereof and in the plane thereof to engage in sockets 16 formed in the top corners of the other opposed pair of side walls 3. The length of the pins 17, 18 is greater than the pins 15 whereby the side walls 2, 4 are located on the pallet deck before the adjacent side walls are interengaged. The pins 17, 18 may extend beneath the deck to be engaged by locking means, e.g. a bolt (not shown) to retain the side walls on the deck and enable the pallet to be engaged and lifted by side clamps. A lid (21) Fig. 3 (not shown) may be provided and has side walls (22) of a depth to cover the side walls 2, 3, 4 when they are laid flat on the deck 5.
