Abstract

1391360 Bearings SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 4 July 1972 [6 July 1971] 31259/72 Heading F2A A ball bearing cage comprises two annular cage halves 6 each provided with a series of circumferentially spaced recesses open in the same axial direction and formed such that each recess has one or the other of two maximum axial depths, and that alternate recesses have the same maximum depth as each other, the cage halves being secured together with each lesser depth recess in one half opposite a greater depth recess in the other half. The cage halves are of sheet metal. On assembly of the bearing unit, preloading of the cage against the balls can be effected, such preloading taking place in both axial directions.
