Abstract

1391265 Insulated floor and ceiling TRUSTEEL UNIVERSAL (1972) Ltd 6 July 1972 [7 July 1971] 31882/71 Headings E1K and E1W An insulated floor and ceiling comprises a plurality of spaced I-beams 10 carrying floor and ceiling panels 18, 14 and fibrous mats 16, 17, 19 (e.g. of glass fibre) covering the lower and upper surfaces of the floor and ceiling panels respectively and also extending between the ceiling panels 14 and the I beams. The floor panels may be of chipboard, and their edges may have a tongue and groove connection, Fig. 2 (not shown) and rest on insulation pads located on further I beams 12 transversely interconnecting the I-beams 10. The ceiling panels 14 are of aerated concrete having hanger clips 15 moulded therein. One beam 10 may be deeper than the others, its lower flange being covered by a panel 22 grouted at 23 to the adjacent ceiling panels. The further beams 12 have apertures 12a for carrying service conduits and may be made from two channel members connected back to back.
