Abstract

1390833 Printing apparatus RICOH KK 1 June 1972 [7 June 1971] 25572/72 Heading B6C An offset cylinder co-operating with an impression cylinder has a surface of a polymer with a critical surface tension of 25 dyne/cm. or less, suitably supported by a body of aluminium, copper, brass, iron, stainless steel, a synthetic resin such as a phenolic resin, an epoxy resin, an acrylic resin, a melamine resin, a polyester resin or an acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene copolymer resin, or by rubber-blanketed cylinder. The surface polymer may be polypropylene, poly-dimethylsiloxane or a fluorine-containing resin, examples of which are listed. After printing, the offset cylinder can be cleaned by passing sheets of paper between it and the impression cylinder with which it co-operates.
