Abstract

1458724 Printing plates XEROX CORP 10 April 1974 [13 April 1973] 15985/74 Heading B6C A planographic printing plate comprises a layer comprising ink-release material that is (a) a composition comprising silicone polymeric material and non-silicone polymeric material or (b) a block copolymer comprising a silicone component and a non-silicone component; and fixed to and above the layer an ink-receptive surface. The ink-receptive surface may be applied by depositing particles on the layer and heating or treating with solvent vapour. The particles may be a toner image produced by electrophotography. The plate can be used without damping. An adhesive layer may be provided between the substrate and the ink-release material, and this adhesive layer may be epoxy resin or polyurethane.
