1390346 Aroyl (tetrazolylmethyl) pyrroles McNEIL LABORATORIES Inc 19 Jan 1973 [21 Jan 1972] 2756/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of the formulµ where Ar is phenyl which may be mono-, di- or tri-substituted by halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, trifluoromethyl or methylthio, R is H or lower alkyl, R 1 is H, lower alkyl or benzyl and R 2 is H or lower alkyl provided that, when R 1 is H, then R is H, and the lower alkyl and lower alkoxy groups contain 1-6 carbon atoms. The compound may be prepared by heating a compound of the formula with sodium azide under mildly acidic conditions in a dipolar aprotic solvent. The compound may be used as anti-inflammatory agents.
