Abstract

1390220 Measuring angles J F EBDON 11 April 1973 [15 Dec 1972] 58181/72 Heading G 1X A carpenter's square for measuring out angles on roof timbers to be cut to shape comprises two blades 11, 12 at right angles to each other and a member 15 adjustable relative to the blades and securable thereto to form a triangle therewith. As shown, the blades 11, 12 are integral with each other and are each provided with linear scales, the blade 11 and the member 15 being additionally provided with graduations (19, 21) Fig. 2, (not shown) corresponding to angular settings of the member 15 about predetermined points on the blade 12. The blades 11, 12 are arranged to extend through slots 16 in the member 15, the slots 16 being each associated with a thumb-screw arrangement 17 which can be adjusted so that each slotted portion of the member can grip an associated blade.
