Abstract

1390145 Mounting engines &c DR-ING Hcf PORSCHE AG 9 Oct 1973 [21 Oct 1972] 47120/73 Heading B7H The internal combustion engine 6 drives transmission 7 through a propeller shaft 10 and universal joints 9 and 11. The joint 9 is provided at the intersection of the axis B-B of rotation of the engine and the axis A-A of oscillation of the engine so as to reduce stress caused by oscillation forces. The longitudinal axis of the shaft 10 and the axis A-A coincide. The engine 6 has resilient bearings 16, 17 and 18 their resiliency increasing as the distance from point C increases. The engine 6 may be at front or centre of the vehicle.
