Abstract

1389705 Ships' cabin partitioning DAIMARU CO Ltd and NICHI-BEI BLIND MFG CO Ltd 2 Oct 1972 [2 Oct 1971 30 June 1972 (2)] 45416/72 Heading B7S A partition arrangment which can adapt to dimensional changes of the ship in use comprises a number of telescopic pillars each having inner and outer members 13, 11 and intended to be secured between the deck 1 and deckhead 2 and a number of partition panels 3. The panels 3 are attached to the outer members 11 of the telescopic pillars by interengageable hooks 15 and slots (19) on the pillars and panels 3, respectively. The method of installing the partitioning comprises the steps of (A) welding positioning plates 25 to the deckhead 2; (B) extending the telescopic pillars 11, 13 between the deck 1 and the deckhead 2, with the slot 24 in the top of each inner member 13 engaging a plate 25; (C) shifting the pillars until correctly positioned; (D) welding plates 25 to inner members 13 and (E) welding the bottom end of each pillar to the deck 1.
