Abstract

1384882 Combine harvester PROBE ENG CO LTD 24 Jan 1972 [28 Jan 1971] 3348/71 Heading A1F [Also in Division H4] A combine harvester (Fig. 7) is provided with two grain loss detectors 85, 86 positioned horizontally below and extending the full width across the straw walker 81 and the grain sieve 83 respectively. A proportion of the grain lost will impinge on the detectors 85, 86 and produce an output signal. The two detectors 85, 86 are connected by cables 87, 88 to a metering and display unit 89 in front of the driving position. Unit 89 may indicate the rate at which grain is being lost. An output 90 from unit 89 may be coupled to a regulator 91 to control automatically the speed of the harvester in response to the sensed grain loss.
