Diffusing steam in ovens.-A steamer for use in' bakers' ovens consists of a rectangular tank or container B with a narrow slot-like steam outlet 4 beneath a downturned flange 1 supported by side webs 2. An inwardly-turned lip 3 prevents the water in the tank from splashing out of the outlet 4, through which the tank is filled. In use, a flat plate A is laid on the fire, and the tank B placed upon the plate, which is then withdrawn by a hook inserted in the hole 6, leaving the tank resting on the fire with the flange 1 projecting into the oven. It may be withdrawn by means of a handle 5.
