1383894 Sintered carbide containing steel BAYER LEICHTMETALLWERK GRAF BLUCHER VON WAHLSTATT KG 26 April 1973 [27 April 1972] 19891/73 Heading C7D A steel is made by pressing and sintering a powder mixture comprising metal and alloying element powders and/or alloy powder, with which has been mixed 0.5-50% of wholly or predominantly carbon deficient Cr and/or Mn carbides of the structural types M 23 C 6 , M 7 C 3 or M 3 C. The pressed and sintered body may be compressed hot or cold (e.g. by rolling, hot pressing extrusion or die forging). The carbide may be partially replaced by Group IV, V or VI carbides, B, Fe, Co or Ni and the final alloy may contain Al, N, Si, S or misch metal.
