Abstract

1383443 Belt conveyers for flat articles; feeding sheets LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-GmbH 25 Feb 1972 [27 Feb 1971] 8800/72 Headings B8A and B8R Bundles of documents or letters to be separated into a single stream, are supported on edge on a conveyer belt 2 between converging belts 5, 6, and are fed between a conveyer belt 10 and a friction-faced roller 7 driven in a direction contrary to the conveying direction of the belt 10. The roller 7 is spring-urged towards the belt 10 until it engages a stop roller 21. The parts are so arranged that as the surfaces wear, the distance between the surface of the belt 10 and the periphery of the facing on the belt 7, remains constant. In a modification (not shown), the belt 10 may be replaced by a feed roller, and the latter may be spring urged towards the roller 7 (instead of vice-versa as shown). In another modification (Fig. 2, not shown), the stop roller may be provided by a roller 15.
