Abstract

1379352 Anti-theft devices SAFETY DRIVE INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 4 May 1973 21339/73 Heading B7J [Also in Division F2] A device enabling fluid pressure brakes to be locked on to prevent theft and operated by a hidden switch comprises a centre core 2 of insulating material having a bore 22 extending therethrough, a plunger 4 slidably mounted in the bore, a pair of coils 33A, 33B disposed at each side of the core and energizable to electromagnetically operate the plunger 4 to open or close a fluid flow channel between an inlet 5 and an outlet 6. A spring-urged ball 26 can engage either of two grooves 47 in the plunger to locate it. When the plunger is in the energized position a pin 65 closes the entrance 67 of outlet 6 and a ball 434 seals channel 41. In addition a metal ring 46 engages a contact 27 to complete the horn circuit so that if an attempt is made to start the engine the horn sounds an alarm.
