Abstract
1378693 Fluid actuation of switches CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO Ltd 4 May 1973 [25 May 1972] 24617/72 Heading H1N A fluid pressure switch comprises a body portion 1 carrying a snap switch 2 mechanism, and a body portion 5 having a spring-loaded switchactuating fluid pressure responsive plunger 9 and push-rod 15, the operating pressure being adjusted by screwing body portion 5 in or out of body portion 1 to adjust the positions of plunger 9 and push rod 15 relative to switch mechanism 2, means being provided for locking body portions 1 and 5 in the adjusted position. This means comprises a serrated ring plate 18 surrounding a hexagonal part 5a of body portion 5 and locked in position by screws 19. Fluid pressure depresses plunger 9 which moves pad 11 and thrust member 12 which moves push rod 15 to depress actuating button 3 of micro-switch 2. Member 12 is spring-loaded by spring 13 and sleeve 17 provides a stop for member 12. Spring 16 provides for over-travel between pad 11 and rod 15. Spring 16 need not be provided, rod 15 being integral with pad 11 and/or member 12.
