Abstract

1378576 Indicating devices J B COWAN 12 Feb 1973 [27 March 1972] 14348/72 Heading B7H An indicator for location on a vehicle windscreen, so that the vehicle driver is made aware if he is less than the recommended distance from the vehicle in front having regard to the following vehicle's speed. The indicator comprises a transparent or opaque sheet having lines 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 above a base line. The distances between lines 8 and 2, 8 and 3 represent the minimum recommended safe distances at a speed when following a medium size vehicle. Reference lines 9 and 10 represent the distances for small and large vehicles respectively. In another embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the card carries silhouettes of different width vehicles.
