Abstract

1377753 Structural joints SINTACEL Ltd 10 March 1972 [14 April 1971] 9448/71 Heading F2M A connector comprises an elongate structural element 11 and channel section telescopically engageable, frictionally locking male and female members 10, 12, the male member projecting laterally from element 11, being secured thereto by means such as fillet welds (W) on the internal surfaces thereof and having outer surfaces provided by side walls 10A, 10B, the central wall and the free edges of side walls 10A, 10B engaging inner surfaces of the female member provided by the side walls 12A, 12B, the central wall and the returned edges 12C, 12D. The male member may also have returned edges. Members 10, 12 may additionally be secured by screws passed through the overhanging portions of side walls 10A, 12A. The connector may be applied to table legs 11, each leg having orthogonally projecting male members secured thereto and engageable with common female members.
