1377726 Damping hydraulic actuators VOLVO BM AB 24 May 1973 [31 May 1972] 25005/73 Heading F1P A pair of double acting rams 1a, 1b, which swing a member 9 about an axis 7 and are supplied with fluid through lines 15a, 15b, have conventional means 11a, 11b for damping the end of the stroke of pistons 3a, 3b which are each connected to the opposite end of the other cylinder by lines 23a, 23b so that both ends of the stroke of each piston is damped. Check valves 27a, 27b ensure that fluid passing through lines 23a, 23b is returned through chambers 17a, 17b and lines 13a, 13b. When the piston 3a moves downwards, fluid is pushed from the chamber 21a through line 23a and into the chamber 17b, so that when the piston 3b approaches the end of its stroke both pistons are damped because exhaust fluid from both cylinders passes through the damping means 11b.
