1377499 Endless linked belt C H BALLENGER 1 Dec 1971 26612/74 Divided out of 1377498 Heading B8A A conveyer belt comprises a plurality of elongated cross members extending transversely of the belt and spaced in the longitudinal direction of the belt, links borne by the cross members forming first and second side edges of the belt, the links being dimensioned and shaped to permit relative longitudinal movement without disconnection of adjacent links and the links on one side in co-operation wth the associated cross members, surfaces engageable by drive means for moving the belt. In the figure, members 100 extend transversely to form a belt surface, links 104 formed by bending the ends of members 100 form an inextensible side edge, while links 102, also formed by bending the ends of the cross members, form a collapsible side edge by the bending of the hook-shaped portion of the link towards the centre of the belt to enable relative sliding movement. This bending of the hook-shaped portions also provides recesses 114 for the engagement of angled drive members 67a, 67b. The belt is intended for use with the helical conveyer defined in Specification 1,377,498.
