Abstract

1376929 Securing railway rails to foundations LECHLER CHEMIE GmbH 3 Dec 1971 [19 Jan 1971] 56224/71 Heading EIG A railway rail 12 rigidly located between ribs 14 on a base plate 13 is resiliently secured on a concrete or steel foundation 11 without the aid of sleepers by a single bonded elastomeric layer 17-e.g. of polyurethane or epoxy resin-cast in situ between the foundations 11 and the plate 13. As shown the rail 12, clamped to a series of rectangular base plates 13, is aligned and secured by resiliently-mounted bolts 20 whereafter an individual layer 17 of elastomer is cast under each plate 13 using removable moulds 18 and injection holes 19. In a modification omitting the anchor bolts the foundation is recessed to act as a mould.
