1376504 Workpiece transferring WERKZEUGMASCHINENKOMBINAT "7 OKTOBER" BERLIN VEB 28 Jan 1972 4105/72 Heading B3B A magazine arrangement 7 for storing and moving workpieces 2 in relation to a machining station 10 of a machining layout comprises a plurality of movable workpiece storage devices 1, at least three storage stations 7a, 7b, 7c disposed at fix locations adjacent each other, a carrier element 30.1, 30.2, 8 at each of the storage stations for carrying one of the storage devices 1, means 31 for horizontally and individually moving two of the carrier elements 30.1, 30.2 between two adjacent lying storage stations, e.g. between 7a and 7b or between 7c and 7b, and means for moving one of the carrier elements, e.g. the centre carrier element 8, vertically in a stepwise manner and for rotating it in each vertical position. The storage devices 1 are initially stored in a fixed rack 3 and are moved by a transport means 5 movable along tracks 6 and guides 4 to the intermediate magazine arrangement 7. A work changing device 9 places workpieces 2 into the machining station 10. Various arrangements are described in which machining stations are arranged in parallel rows and serviced by transport means also arranged in parallel rows, with an intermediate magazine 7 and work changing device 9 for each machining station.
