Abstract
1374832 Sintered zirconia MAGNESIUM ELEKTRON Ltd 11 April 1973 [11 April 1972] 16651/72 Heading C1A A sintered zirconia body is made by sintering a compacted composition consisting of from 10 to 100% by wt. of baddelxyite the remainder being pure zirconia, at least 10% of the composition having an average grain size not greater than 5 microns. The composition, which preferably has an average grain size of less than 2 microns is preferably sintered for from 2 to 3 hours at a temperature from 1550‹ to 1650‹ C. and may also contain up to 2 mole per cent of yttria or up to 15 mole per cent of calcia or magnesia.
