Abstract

1372514 Magnetic recording and playback WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 8 May 1973 [18 May 1972(2)] 21887/73 Heading G5R In a high-speed tape-dubbing system, a pinch roller 26 enters a hole 28 or 30 in a cassette 14 and co-operates to drive the tape 47 with an external capstan 32 which is urged, e.g. by a solenoid 58, Fig. 2, through an opening in the front of the cassette. An electrically conductive lining 74, 76, Fig. 8, in the cassette engages an earthing spring 72 to dissipate electrostatic charge. The tape-guide rollers 48, 56 are of concave cross-section, Fig. 9.
