Abstract

1372257 Rolling mills SECIM 21 Oct 1971 [28 Oct 1970] 49068/71 Heading B3M A rolling mill incorporates in each housing 1 a pair of prestressing jacks 7, 8 hydraulically connected to each other and to a plunger jack 9, the jack 9 also being connected to a screwdown jack 6. The jack 9 is operated electromechanically to regulate the roll gap and to keep the prestressing force constant. The ratio between the working area of jack-6 and of the corresponding working area 5, of jack 9 is preferably equal to the ratio between the area 5 2 of jack 9 and the combined working area of the two jacks 7, 8. A blocking unit 11 normally isolates the hydraulic circuit from a pressure source 10.
