Abstract

1372154 Dyeing cotton STERLING DRUG INC 14 Aug 1972 [16 Aug 1971] 37855/72 Heading D1B [Also in Divisions B2 C3 and C4] The preparation on the fibre of monoazo pigments of formula: wherein X is H or OCH 3 , Y is H, CH 3 or OC 2 H 5 and R is Cl or CH 3 is described. In Example (3) cotton cloth is impregnated in an alkaline bath of 3-hydroxy-2-naphth-paraanisidide and dried, damped with 2% aq. NaCl, a solution containing the diazonium chloride of 3-amino-4-methyl-benzoylurea is applied in streaks and the treated cloth after washing is dried to give a red-patterned cloth.
