Abstract

1372094 Electro-photographic developing apparatus AGFA-GEVAERT AG 11 Oct 1971 [9 Oct 1970] 47196/71 Heading G2H Whenever operation of a developer conveyor 13 is stopped, the conveyor is moved in the reverse direction for a short time before coming to a halt, in order to prevent developer from spilling out of the top scoops of the conveyor if the developing system is removed from the copier. As shown, closing a switch 41 energizes a relay 36 which connects a switch 27 to a lead 37 to energize a motor M for driving the conveyor 13 in the forward direction by means of a drive belt 18, movement of belt 18 also closing a switch 20. When switch 41 is opened relay 36 is de-energized, a spring 42 connects switch 27 to a lead 30 and motor M is reversed to drive conveyor 13 in the reverse direction. After a short time the belt 18 has moved a sufficient distance in the reverse direction to open switch 20 and thus to switch off motor M. The developing system can be pulled out of the copier along rails 6 by means of a handle 10.
