Abstract

1371358 Endless and roller conveyers ORGANISATION RALFS KG 17 Dec 1971 [7 Jan 1971] 58752/71 Heading B8A Containers (5) (Fig. 1, not shown) travelling on a conveyer 1 may be diverted on to a branch loop 2 by the operation of a deflector member 9. The return of the containers from the conveyer 2 to the conveyer 1 is controlled by a member 17. This has a part-rectangular recess in which the container is positively retained by the action of a spring-urged catch 24 which engages behind a shoulder of the container. When the front of the container engages a switch 19, the member 17 is rotated about a pivot 16, provided there is no signal transmitted by a container on the conveyer 1 upstream of the junction. A roller 25 on a member 22 carrying the catch 24, engages a guide 26 of the conveyer 1 (as shown in dot-dash lines) and causes the member 22 to pivot and release the container. When the latter has been carried clear of the member 17 by the conveyer 1, a switch 31 is operated. This permits the member 17 to be returned to its normal (full lines) position. When the member 17 is not in its normal position, it releases a spring urged stop 28 to block the conveyer 2. A rotary member 3 conveys the containers around a curve of the conveyer 2.
