Abstract

1368805 Portable containers POLYTHENE DRUMS Ltd 24 Jan 1972 [4 Feb 1971] 3942/71 Heading B8D A plastics cask 10, preferably blow-moulded of polyethylene or polypropylene, is provided with an upper end 13 having an annular chimb 18, which is spaced inwardly of the periphery and which is interrupted to accommodate a capped dispensing spout 16, and a lower end having a peripheral chimb 33, which is interrupted at 34 to accommodate the dispensing spout of an identical cask when two such casks are stacked one upon the other with the lower chimb of the upper cask encompassing the upper chimb of the lower cask. The lower chimb of the upper of the two stacked casks abuts the peripheral portion 19 of the upper end of the lower cask, and the upper chimb of the .lower cask engages the end surface 32 of the upper cask within the lower chimb. The capped spout 16 of the lower cask, is located in an upper end recess 15 and engages the bottom of the upper cask at the position of the interruption 34. A blister 22 is formed in the upper end and is provided with holes in blister end walls 23 for receiving the ends of a handle 26. The upper chimb is provided with additional diametricallyopposed interruptions 20 to permit the formation of said holes. The interruptions of the upper and lower end chimbs are axially aligned.
