1367343 Toothed gearing DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 27 April 1972 [27 April 1971] 11727/71 Heading F2Q In a gear train comprising a sun-wheel 10, a plurality of planet wheels 11 and a toothed annulus 18, all of which have single helical teeth, each of the planet wheels having a bearing surface and having its centre of gravity disposed relative to the bearing surface such that the centrifugal load on the planet wheel provides a couple acting on the planet wheel in opposition to the tipping couple or the planet wheels due to the helix angle of the gears. The balancing couple may be provided by an additional weight 35 on one axial end of the planet wheel. Alternatively the bearing may overhang the toothed portion of the pinion.
