Abstract
1366862 Ventilators MOTO PLASTICS Ltd 19 Aug 1971 [19 May 1970] 24036/70 Heading F4V A ventilator adapted to act also as a support for a roof light or other closure 16 of an opening 22 in a roof 20 comprises a base structure 10 including a first skirt 12 which has a horizontal surface and at least one further skirt 12 adapted to have secured to it a light or other closure 16, successive skirts being separated by spacers 14. As shown there are three skirts separated by two sets of spacers, each skirt having, besides a horizontal part, an outwardly and downwardly extending part. There may be provided pivoted louvres 42 between the spacers 14 adapted to open and close the ventilator. They may be linked or geared together and controlled manually or by power-operated means. In the closed position the louvres bear against a weather strip 50. A screen 52 may be provided to keep out insects and wind-borne rubbish. If there are no louvres the screen may lie at an angle across the ventilator gap (Fig. 2, not shown). The spacers may be secured to the skirts by adhesive or rivets or, if it is required to have ready roof access, by threaded studs and knurled nuts.
