Abstract

1366747 Two component yarns OLBO TEXTILWERKE GmbH 4 Oct 1972 [4 Oct 1971] 45739/72 Heading D1W A two component yarn comprises a first component 2 consisting of a continuous yarn deformable plastically and a second component 3 consisting of staple fibres, the fibres of the second component being adapted to slip relative to one another if, in use, the yarn undergoes plastic elongation. Each of the components 2 and 3 may be in the form of a yarn, the two components being twisted together. In a preferred embodiment the staple fibres are spun around the continuous .yarn. The first component is preferably capable of elongation of at least 60% with a tensile strength of 200 grams. The continuous yarn is preferably of nylon or poylester, and the staple fibres of cotton, rayon, nylon or polyester. The yarn may be made into woven or plaited materials or non-woven materials of parallel strands.
