Abstract

1366611 Awnings M CLAUSS and U CLAUSS [trading as CLAUSS-MARKISEN MANFRED U ULRICH CLAUSS] 27 Jan 1972 [17 Feb 1971] 3875/72 Heading E1J A roller awning comprises a box 7 containing a roller 6 carrying the awning cloth, arms 1, 2 being jointed at their centres and pivoted at their ends to drop bar 4 and bearings 5 respectively, the bearings 5 being pivotable about a joint extending the length of the box. When the awning is retracted; one portion of each arm fits inside a longitudinal recess in the other, and bar 4 closes box 7. Bearings 5 are supported on studs 19 with end parts 20 in a rail 16 which is hinged at 13 to box 17. A tie bar 23 comprises a bolt 26 pivoted at 29 to rail 16 and a sleeve 25 pivoted at 32 to box 7. When the awning is opened; rail 16 pivots at 13. until nut 27 engages the end of sleeve 25, the arms 1, 2 then open out. A brush 48 cleans the cloth.
