Abstract

1365136 Multi-coloured transfer medium INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 17 Nov 1971 [14 Dec 1970] 53415/71 Heading D2B A multi-coloured transfer medium comprises a porous polymeric film having zones of matrix material terminating at a surface of the film in which zones the pores of the polymer contain inks of different colour, the zones being bonded by a resin applied by a solvent coating method. The transfer medium may be made by forming strips of porous polymeric matrix materials containing inks of different colour on supporting substrates, aligning the strips on a common substrate coated with a fugitive or permanent adhesive, coating the aligned strips with a resin solution, and removing the solvent, and subsequently the supporting and common substrates.
