Abstract

1364694 Reciprocating pumps and motors SOC ANON AUTOMOBILES CITROEN 19 Oct 1971 [22 Oct 1970] 48616/71 Heading F1A A swash-plate pump or motor comprises a rotary cylinder block 14 biased against a ported valve face 26 by hydraulic pressure acting in a stepped chamber 42 in the cylinder block, the chamber being open at its end adjacent the valve face 26 and closed at its other end by a piston 40 fixed to drive-shaft 7, pressure being developed in the chamber by leakage entering the chamber from between the cylinder block and valve face and passing from the chamber to the casing interior via clearance between the piston 40 and the chamber wall, the chamber pressure increasing with increase in leakage to increase the biasing force on the cylinder block. Springs 35 provide additional biasing force on the block. Recess 38 in valve face 26 may be off-set from the shaft axis. Shaft 7 is coupled to shaft 2 by gears 5, 6.
