Abstract

136,400. Treen, R. J. March 1, 1919. Hubs.-In attaching wheels to axles or hubs, an adapter or driving-plate 2 is interposed between the hub 1 and the wheel 9. The plate is provided with radial projections 3 which co-operate with similar projections on a plate 10 on the wheel to transmit the drive. Bolt-holes 4 in the plate are provided with bosses 5 adapted to enter holes 7 in the hub flange face 6. The plate 10 has bolt-holes 13 with bosses 14 entering holes in the wheel, and a plate 16 is secured by bolts 19 to the outer side of the wheel, bolts 24 securing the entire wheel to the hub flange.
