Abstract
1362962 Endless conveyer framework T J BRUNES 29 June 1971 [1 July 1970] 30111/71 Heading B8A [Also in Division E1] A girder for use, e.g. in supporting an endless chain conveyer or, as shown, a band conveyer, is composed of a number of triangular sections 1 held together end-to-end by, e.g. rods or steel ropes, 5, passing through holes 4, means being provided to prevent mutual lateral displacement between adjacent sections. As shown, smaller triangular members 8, bolted to the girder, support bearing frames 9 carrying shafts and bearing rollers 10, idlers 13 being supported on lower frames 12. Legs 7 are also provided. The triangular sections may be disconnected and re-connected in, e.g. a hexagon form for transport, Fig. 9 (not shown), using peripheral clamps (14). The girder may be prestressed. These means may comprise, e.g. spigots and sockets. The sections are preferably of a rigid plastics material although metal or wood may be used, and may be reinforced by steel bushes 18 (Fig. 12) passing through the holes. Inner, 19, or outer sleeves 20 may be provided, or the bushes may be longitudinally staggered relative to the sections.
