1362857 Feeding and delivering sheets PNEUMATIC SCALE CORP 8 Oct 1971 46997/71 Heading B8R [Also in Division B5] An arrangement for removing blanks at a predetermined rate from a magazine includes opposed advancing rollers 18, 20, Fig. 6, and lifting rollers 52 operated by a cam (68, Fig. 5) through link work 58, 59 (60, 64, Fig. 5) to lower and raise the stack of blanks in the magazine into and out of engagement with inclined continuously driven feed belts 42. Adjustable stop guides (76, Fig. 5), or 398 in conjunction with driven rollers 78 permit the removal of the lowermost blank 12 only. A jam in the blank feeding mechanism can be relieved by raising the stop guides 398, which are slidably mounted in grooves 400 in frame members 402, using a handle 416. A solenoid actuated piston and cylinder assembly (358, Fig. 5) raises the link (64) from the cam (68) and consequently raises the lifting rollers 52 to stop the feed of blanks in the event of a malfunction detected by a micro-switch (378, Fig. 5A) or a photo-electric detector (380, Fig. 5A). Knocked down cartons produced on a blank folding machine are accumulated in shingled fashion when they fall on to a conveyer belt 452, Fig. 13, which moves slower than the chain conveyer (26, Fig. 1) on which the blanks are conveyed through the folding machine. Adjustable guide plates 494, 496 are provided in the path of the falling cartons.
