Abstract

1360679 Air conditioning systems A P ENG KK 24 Sept 1971 [3 June 1971] 44674/71 Heading F4V An air conditioning system comprises supplying conditioned air to a number of rooms each having a unit for circulating air within the rooms and for exhausting air from the rooms. Air is drawn into the building through an inlet 21 and passes over a filter 18 and a heater or cooler 19 before passing through ducts 23 to be distributed to the rooms. In one form the conditioned air is supplied to section 5 of the room unit 2 through a duct 24, cooled by an evaporator 7 and passed into the room by a fan 12. Secondary air is also induced into the unit from the room through inlet 10 by the fan. Air is exhausted from the room by being drawn into section 6 of the unit 2 past condenser 9 and compressor 8 into a duet 32 and exhausted to atmosphere. In another form of the invention conditioned air is supplied to the rooms through ejection ducts 25, and room air is circulated by section 5 of the room unit 2. In a further embodiment of the room unit, induction nozzles may be provided in section 5 of the unit to supply conditioned air and induce a flow of secondary air from the room, thus eliminating the need for a fan in the unit.
