Abstract
1359948 Colour television tubes HITACHI Ltd 31 July 1972 [9 Aug 1971] 35624/72 Heading H1D A shadow mask of a colour television tube is coated with an organic, transparent, high molecular weight substance 14 so that in each aperture 11 of the mask there is formed a concave lens 14a which reduces the effective diameter of the aperture when the mask is used in the exposure to light of a screen on which a multi-dot phosphor layer is to be formed. The organic substance can be polyvinyl alcohol or polyisobutyl methacrylate. The film is made uniform by spinning the coated mask. After the exposure is complete the film is removed by a solvent or by heat. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,304,133.
