Abstract
1359938 Nickel base superalloys UNITED AIRCRAFT CORP 11 April 1972 [12 July 1971] 16571/72 Heading C7A The mechanical properties, transverse to the alignment of the columnar grains, of undirectionally solidified nickel-base superalloys are improved by including in the alloy 0À75- 1À25% Zr. Tests were conducted on an alloy consisting of:- Fe 1À5% max, Cu 0À1% max, Mn 0À2% max, S 0À015% max, Si 0À2% max, the balance, apart from the Zr content, being Ni. The production of turbine blades is mentioned.
