Abstract

1359796 Tool slides INDEX-WERKE K G HAHN & TESSKY 1 Sept 1972 [3 Sept 1971] 40714/72 Heading B3T In a machine tool such as a lathe a tool slide 10 is controlled for its feed and return motions by cam 16 driven from the main control shaft 14 which actuates a bell-crank lever 12, one arm 32 of which engages the cam and the other arm 32 engaging in a transmission member 35 within the housing of the slide 10. The transmission member 36 is of a flat circular disc form which is located eccentrically in a rotatable toothed member 36 within the housing. Fine adjustment of the housing relative to the transmission member to accurately position a cutting tool 26 is effected by rotating the member 36 by way of a threaded spindle 44 which displaces the transmission member around a circular path due to the eccentricity between the members 35 and 36.
