Abstract

1359109 Razors FEATHER SAFETY RAZOR CO Ltd 27 July 1972 [4 Sept 1971] 35164/72 Heading B4B An interchangeable-blade type razor comprises a blade holding portion 2 connected to a handle 1, a blade clamping member 10 connected by a hinge device 3b, 4, 12, 13 to the portion 2 and pivoted by a slider member 24 mounted in a guide way 9, 16 which is tapered such that upon movement of the slider the clamping member is pivoted to securely retain a blade 22 in the razor. The two parts of the hinge are held together by means of a threaded pin 3b screwed into a portion 4 of the hinge at one end, a pin 20 at the other end of the hinge engaging in a hole 3a in the handle 1. The guide way is of generally V-shaped cross-section adapted to accommodate a corresponding-shaped block (18), Fig. 5 (not shown), of the slider. The member 10 is moved to a non-clamping position by means of a spring 5. A new blade may be fitted into the razor by inserting a pin on an injector device, an alignment pin on the device being engaged in a hole 21, Fig. 1, provided in the razor.
